For example, using a preheating device to preheat the intake air raises the temperature of the gas and air, ensuring that they can mix thoroughly and burn smoothly. At the same time, using lubricating oil suitable for low-temperature environments can maintain good fluidity at low temperatures, reduce friction between engine components, and help the engine start quickly in cold weather.

In high-altitude areas, gas engines also face special problems. As altitude increases, atmospheric pressure decreases and the air becomes thinner. This means that during the intake process, the amount of air entering the engine cylinder decreases. Due to the fact that the combustion process of gas engines relies on the mixture of gas and air in a certain proportion, a decrease in air volume can lead to an overly rich mixture of gas, which affects combustion efficiency. Moreover, the thin air can also cause the spark plug to have insufficient ignition energy, further reducing the success rate of starting.

To solve the start-up problem in high-altitude areas, turbocharging technology can be used. Turbocharging or mechanical supercharging devices can increase intake pressure, making the amount of air entering the cylinder close to the level in low altitude areas. At the same time, the control system of the engine is optimized to automatically adjust parameters such as gas injection quantity and ignition advance angle according to altitude, ensuring that the mixed gas can burn smoothly in thin air and improving the engine's starting performance in high-altitude areas.
